Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Database Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions that optimize HR processes and improve decision-making for HRC. The ideal person will work closely across various lines of business to understand the objectives of the organization and prioritize any requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Under general direction, leads and participates in the development and maintenance of Cyber and IA database systems while also offering database development resources to the development team. 
  • Required to review and provide technical solutions to projects that may be in different stages of the development life cycle. 
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server certification and experience are required.
  • Minor understanding of Oracle
  • Requires Unix/Linux, including basic shell commands, data warehousing, report generation, job scheduling and monitoring tools, XML, HTML, open source development, and technical documenting skills (Windows Office/Visio/Cvs, etc.).
  • Leads and participates in the development, installation, management, and maintenance of database systems while also offering database development resources to the development team.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases to support business applications.
  • Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.
  • Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define database requirements and ensure data integrity.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for database systems.
  • Conduct data analysis and generate reports to support business decision-making.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience with installing, configuring, managing, and administrating SQL Server, including failover clusters, job scheduling, backing up, restoring, and maintaining databases using Microsoft best practices.
  • Must be familiar with DISA STIGs and ensuring systems are compliant and secure.
  • Experience with Transact-SQL (T-SQL) scripting (including script review), data warehousing, and tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI, Extended Events, SQL Profiler, SQL Server Management Studio, Linked Servers, and various other components inside SQL Server.
  • Previous experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator in a matrixed, high-functioning organization.
  • Previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work independently in a mostly virtual team environment.
  • Basic experience with Windows Powershell/ command-line commands.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, such as writing, reviewing, and authoring documentation to include MFRs, SSPs, SOPs, RACs, and other system documentation.
  • It’s preferred that the candidate have some Database cloud migration knowledge/experience.
  • Oracle experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. In lieu of Master’s: BA/BS with 15 years of experience
  • Advanced Previous experience working in roles with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionally certified as Technical Level III as defined by DODI 8570 is a requirement.
  • Active secret clearance required or (ability to obtain one)
  • Must be a US citizen
