Key Responsibilities
Research, write, and edit internal communications materials for the NAVSEA workforce, including leadership messages, employee profiles, newsletters, and general interest email communications
Develop content that effectively conveys strategic messaging and supports engagement with internal stakeholders
Provide editorial support and quality assurance to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all internal communications
Collaborate with senior leaders and subject matter experts to produce written materials that align with NAVSEA’s mission and priorities
Manage the creation and distribution of internal newsletters and workforce communications across NAVSEA facilities worldwide
Assist in crafting executive-level messages that communicate organizational goals, policy updates, and workforce initiatives
Develop communication strategies and materials that enhance engagement and promote transparency within NAVSEA
Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting senior leaders with timely and high-quality written communications
Stay informed on defense acquisition, federal appropriations, and legislative matters to ensure content remains relevant and aligned with NAVSEA’s objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or a related field
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in defense acquisition or federal appropriation/authorization matters
Proven ability to provide direct communication support to senior leaders in a high-pressure environment
Strong understanding of NAVSEA, the Navy, and Department of Defense communication practices
Experience developing internal communication strategies that support workforce engagement
Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with senior leadership, public affairs teams, and internal stakeholders
